Without the generous support of many patrons and friends, CONCORA could not exist. Income from ticket sales only meets a portion of our operating budget, and declining support from government and foundation grants means that we are increasingly dependent on individual donors like you.
If you have supported CONCORA with a financial donation, thank you! You are making a difference!
If you haven’t yet made a gift, or would like to increase your giving, we invite you to take advantage of any of these opportunities to support and sustain fine choral music in our community.

The Richard M. Coffey Fund for the Advancement of the Choral Arts – CONCORA, Connecticut’s first all-professional choir, was founded in 1974 by Richard M. Coffey at South Church in New Britain, and continues to be regarded as the finest professional choral ensemble in Southern New England. Over four decades, CONCORA has built an extraordinary reputation for artistic excellence. In recognition of Maestro Coffey’s unique vision for the creation of a professional choral ensemble to set the standard for the choral arts in Southern New England, and in recognition of his stellar artistic leadership under which CONCORA has fulfilled that vision, CONCORA’s Board of Directors established in his honor The Richard M. Coffey Fund for the Advancement of the Choral Arts, for the Principal Objective of providing support for commissioning of new works, innovative programming, educational outreach, and other special artistic projects. All expenditures from the Fund must be approved by a formal vote of CONCORA’s Board of Directors. In 2015, the Fund supported the commission a new choral work of Dr. Steven Sametz, Un Bacio (A Kiss), dedicated to Richard Coffey. CONCORA gave the premiere of the new work on February 1st, 2015; a video of that performance may be heard here. In 2017, the Fund supported a commission from Connecticut composer Ellen Gilson Voth; the new work, Of Distant Skies, was premiered by CONCORA at its Art & Music concert on February 12, 2017.
