Vocal Freedom for Lifelong Singing with Constance Chase This 45-minute interactive workshop for avocational singers includes practical new-to-you techniques to support free, expressive singing throughout every stage of life. Singers will participate in practical exercises that fit readily into daily life and contribute to a lifetime of joyful singing. Workshop #2 - Wednesday, July 29. 5:30-6:20PM Broadway Master Class with Mark Mummert Selected members of the Summer Festival will prepare a song from the Broadway stage and be guided through vocal and interpretive methods for enhancing their performances. If you would like to sing in this Master Class, please send your name, the title of your selection, and a PDF of the sheet music to Ed Tyler at [email protected]. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, July 12. Selections will be made and singers notified by July 15. Workshop #3 - Friday, July 31, 5:30-6:20PM Inside the Singing Voice: A Guide to Vocology with Sarah Armstrong What is vocology, and why are more singers and voice teachers talking about it? Vocology is the study of how the voice works and how we can use that knowledge to sing more easily, efficiently, and healthfully. Designed for avocational singers, this workshop offers a simple and engaging introduction to the basics of voice science and its practical use in everyday singing. Drawing from recent intensive study in vocal pedagogy and vocology, the session will connect scientific ideas to real singing experiences in approachable and useful ways. About the CONCORA Summer Festival
CONCORA's Summer Festival offers adults, high school and college singers an opportunity to rehearse and perform great choral works - all under the baton of Artistic Director, Chris Shepard. During this week-long intensive, participants will attend educational workshops, prepare and rehearse alongside CONCORA's professional members, and present a culminating concert for the public. If you love to sing and are looking to hone your skills while making and reconnecting with friends, the CONCORA Summer Festival is for you!
