Literature of the Harlem Renaissance

During a January 10th virtual talk - "Literature of the Harlem Renaissance" - presented by New Britain Public Library, Aishah Jenkins Stovall, professor at Central University, discussed the following readings:
  • WEB DuBois: two chapters from The Souls of Black Folk  by: Of Our Spiritual Strivings and Of the Coming John. 
  • Langston Hughes: Bebop or Bop (a story listed under both titles) and Harlem
  • Alain Locke: Enter the New Negro
  • Zora Neale Hurston: How It Feels to Be Colored Me
  • Abel Meeropol: Strange Fruit.
