VIRTUAL MESSIAH SING
Keep the tradition alive!
Launching on Sunday, December 13 at 4:00 p.m.
This holiday season may not be the same without our annual Messiah performance – but instead, YOU can be part of the performance! Join us between now and January 1, when a quartet of spectacular and socially distanced soloists from the Connecticut Choral Artists (CONCORA) leads us in a sing-along of Handel’s beloved masterpiece. They will sing the entire Christmas portion, as well as all choruses from Parts II and III, joined by a chamber ensemble from the Worcester Festival Orchestra. You can sing along at home, or just relax and enjoy the festive music! This On Demand performance will be available until January 1, 2021.
This event is hosted by three ensembles whose annual Messiah performances have been sidelined this year– the Worcester Chorus, whose tradition began in 1900… the Masterwork Chorus of New Jersey, who have been performing the work each year at Carnegie Hall for more than half a century… and CONCORA, Connecticut’s oldest professional choir. All three choirs have performed in Worcester’s beautiful Mechanics Hall, the site of this year’s Virtual Messiah Sing. Light a cozy fire in the fireplace, sit down with your family and favorite seasonal refreshments, and join us for this one-of-a-kind live event. Help us keep the tradition alive!
Artistic Director Chris Shepard was interviewed by Worcester's Telegram & Gazette about the upcoming Virtual Messiah Sing. Read the full story here.
Tickets to enjoy the Live Stream presentation are $10. You will be emailed a link to the live event after your purchase. This On Demand performance will be available until January 1, 2021.
